Conservative Republican Ruth Van Mark Announces Run for HD5
April 26, 2018: Ruth Van Mark a native of Goshen County will announce her intention to run in the Republican Primary for Wyoming House District 5 at Republican Women’s monthly meeting at Deacons, April 27, 2018 at noon. Van Mark is an owner of Van Mark Farms, Inc., a dry-land farming operation located south of Torrington.
Van Mark graduated from Bethel College (St. Paul, MN) with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Political Science, and from George Mason University (Fairfax, VA) with a Masters Degree in Public Administration. She worked for 30 years on Capitol Hill as a congressional staffer and retired as Republican Staff Director for the Senate Subcommittee on Environment and Public Works.
“I am excited about the opportunity to serve the people of Goshen County in the Wyoming Legislature. From my thirty years working in public policy I have learned first hand how critical it is for the legislature to get the policy right. It requires careful listening to public concerns and continued outreach to community leaders and job creators to make sure what happens in Cheyenne is what is needed and workable in Goshen County.
Goshen County has tremendous resources: we are the largest agricultural producer in the state; we have an active economic development office, a growing community college and a first class medical facility. I want to work with the community leaders to expand the resources we have and create new economic opportunities for Goshen County. By working together we can improve on what makes Goshen a great place to live.
